So at my school, they decided that all freshmen and sophomores do 30 hours of community service a year, which will add up to 140 hours by your senior year. Now, I am a lazy child. I don't like getting up the morning, I don't like doing homework or chores, but my mom always says "Even if you don't want to do it, you gotta do it to get it outta the way". This whole thing is killing me because it has to do with hunger and poverty. I would much rather do some community work that includes helping animals, but nooooooo it has to do with stupid hunger and poverty (=_____=)
Don't get me wrong, I love helping people and all, but I just hate seeing things like people living in poverty or the starving children around the world on those depressing UNICEF commercials. It makes me realize how lucky, yet spoiled I am. People are begging for clean water and food while I'm in my house treating myself to being able to wash my face every morning and night and enjoying a nice, warm cup of ramen noodles while listening to the sexy Jay Park. It made me think, "Do I really deserve this?" But, I learned to not take anything for granted. Maybe that's the whole point of this service project? Well, whatever the hell it is, I don't wanna do the work for it. If only we could snap our fingers and all the starving people be fed and the homeless people are given mansions with the greatest necessities one could ask for. Hopefully that day will come very soon.
Until next time, take care

Lazy Sunday
The weekend is almost over T_T While most of us whine and cry at the thought of going back to school and waking up at 6:00am, I'm using this Sunday to chill ;) I have no homework at all this weekend, and that meant more time to work on my dance covers. :)
That also means I'm getting ready for SNSD's Comeback!! Tell me you've seen the teasers ^_^ I can't wait for the full song to release!! SNSD is back and they are ready to take over :D
Here's the longer teaser that SMTOWN uploaded on their official YouTube page:
Being from the USA, I'm so excited that SNSD has an English version of the Boys :) Let's get ready for SNSD's comeback!!

10 Easy Tips for Studying and Homework
Many of us only go to school just to socialize and have fun....then, all that work comes in and ruins everything.
Oh, dreaded homework, tests, papers and projects. Everything a high schooler absolutely HATES.
As for me, I like going to school and doing my work. I guess I'm kind of a nerd, but who cares? I like getting A's, I don't know about you^^ Here are the things that I do when it comes to schoolwork.
#1. Do your homework/studying ASAP!
When I go home, the very first thing I do is get my homework out and start doing it. That way, you'll have more time to relax after getting your homework done and you won't have to worry about staying up all night cramming things in.
#2. Do your hardest/weakest subjects first.
My teachers in elementary school told me to do this because I am horrible in math. If I have math homework, it is the first thing I do because everything else in school is easier. If you get frustrated like I do, do your other subjects next and then go back to the hardest subject.
#3. Re-check your work
You'll probably be dying to go on Facebook or text somebody after while doing your homework, which can cause you to rush through your work because you just wanna get that stuff done. Take your time while writing papers, answering essay questions, or showing your work on math problems. Double check them yourself or have a friend or family member read it over for you so there are no mistakes. You want to turn in your best work!
#4. Try not to have your phone on or text while doing your homework or studying
This is the hardest thing for me personally because my phone is always buzzing. Sure, you're friend may have some juicy gossip about...."Susan" and her boo doing something at the football game, but it can wait. You'll always talk to the person again AFTER you do your work. If you don't text, you won't get distracted and you'll focus more on your studying or homework.
#5. USE FLASHCARDS!!!!
These babies are always a must-have for me whenever I'm studying. No matter what subject, I always have some at home. They're quick, easy to remember, and you don't have to memorize long ass paragraphs.
#6. Use your school planner/Buy a school planner
If I don't have my school planner with me, I feel lost out of school. The second I hear there is an assignment, I right it in my planner. I highlight the subjects that I have homework in and cross them off if I finished them during class.
#7. Write what you need to take home in your planner
When I get assigned something, I always write in the "notes" section of my binder what I need to take home so I know exactly what to bring and so I won't forget anything. I also use this to remind myself how many books I'm taking home and which ones are the heaviest for me to put in my backpack or which to carry in my arms while walking home.
#8. Ask for help!
That's what your teachers are there for: to help you. I go for tutoring in algebra every Wednesday after school because I know that it's my weakest subject (and my parents kinda made me go >.<) But it will help out in the long run if you ask questions. Studies have shown that students who ask questions in class are the students with the higher grades. It won't make you stupid if you ask a question, because there are probably some other kids who may want to ask that same question. Don't be scared; speak up!
#9. DON'T CHEAT!
Plagiarizing, writing on your hands, having your friends text you the answers are all cheating and it is frowned upon by high school teachers and college professors. It may be tempting, but don't look over at your neighbor's answer for the test....if you studied, you should know the answer, right? If you plagiarize, you can get in serious trouble. Cheating won't help you in the long run and it won't look good on your college applications.
#10. Be confident and set goals for yourself
Last but not least, two of my favorite rules. Don't just sit around and say "I am never going to get better at this", "I'm gonna fail this test!" or "It can wait, I have better things to do." Instead, tell yourself things like "This test will be easy!", "I may be bad at it now, but I'll get better soon!" and "I can do this!" Those are the things that I say to myself all the time, and it works for me. I love to set goals for myself. When I was ten, I told myself that I was going to earn a scholarship in basketball to go to Ohio State University and play for the Buckeyes. I still have that goal and with high school finally being here, I always imagine myself in OSU. In my 8th grade year, I then set the goal to go study abroad in Seoul, South Korea and become an author...after I become fluent in Korean, which I am currently studying. Setting goals will make you want to push yourself and work hard so you can accomplish and achieve those dreams/goals you have. Colleges won't let you play sports if you have a low GPA, or they won't even accept you if you have low grades. So smile, pick up that book, and get to work! <3
Good Luck,
Ambz

My K-Pop Story (Warning, LONG)
My friends have always wondered what got me into liking K-Pop (Korean Pop, for those of you who don't know such a thing!) and they still don't understand why I love K-Pop. K-pop is fun, addictive, interesting, creative and relaxing in my opinion. K-Pop has definitely changed my life in ways that I cannot explain. But lets go ahead and get on with the story :)
In August of 2010, I was sitting at home watching some Bubzbeautymakeup tutorials on YouTube. As I was watching videos, this one video kept appearing in the 'Related Videos' bar. That video was titled "Taeyeon Look (Run Devil Run MV)". Each time I saw the video, I was like...who is this Taeyeon chick? So I watched the video. As Bubz was doin' her makeup thing, I was listening to the instrumental of the song "Run Devil Run" (linked music vid!) and I was in LOVE with it! So I looked up the music video and I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought Taeyeon was a Korean soloist, and I thought the other 8 members of Girls' Generation were her background singers. =___=" fail. But after doing countless hours of research on this girl group, I found my new music interest, and stopped listening to American music for about 2 months. I was trying to understand how Koreans now how the characters sounded, so I started teaching myself Korean through the videos on YouTube that were romanized. It was hard work, but it's worth it :) Along with studying Korean, I was teaching myself the dance to Run Devil Run and learned it quickly. I quickly discovered one of their older songs, Gee. I loved their whole "cute/aegyo" look, because it was much different than their tough, kick-ass look in Run Devil Run. From that day forward, I became a Sone and fell in love with the K-Pop industry.
As the months went by, I still studied my Korean and learned more about the members of SNSD, so I could become the proper Sone. While watching other videos on YouTube, I kept seeing this boy band named Super Junior in the related videos. The two groups were always related in some way and I wanted to see what the big deal was about this boy group named Super Junior. The very first video I watched was "No Other". I liked the sweet boyfriend look all 10 members had, and I looked more into their music, just like how I did with SNSD. I thought that EunHyuk was the leader and was shocked when I found out that it was LeeTeuk who was the actual leader! Another fail on my part -____-"The second song I discovered by Super Junior was "It's You". Now this is my fave Super Junior song EVER!! With this song, I discovered my bias, KyuHyun, who has the voice of a choir of angels and the cutest face ever. All 10 members have their own personality that I love about them. It took me forever to understand that there was actually 15 members, and not 10. The group was made in 2005 with the 5 members. I got so confused learning their names and it took me 2 days to learn them all. It took me about half an hour to learn the 9 names of SNSD! And it also didn't help that Super Junior dyed their hair like they change their clothes every single music video!! I got so aggrivated :) By now, my K-Pop love had become an addiction. Every morning I had to listen to Super Junior and every night I had to work on my dances to SNSD's songs. I loved listening to the music and I loved learning another language and learning about a new culture :) I got more pen pals who gave me a Korean name, Lee JuHyun. I chose Lee for my surname because one of my fave group member's name is Lee Joon, who is part of the 5 member boy group named MBLAQ.
I was watching more music videos of Super Junior and once again, the related videos column on YouTube helped me discover yet ANOTHER group. SHINee. I was mad because everyone thought that SHINee was better than my Super Junior. So of course, I had to check out the competition. My first SHINee song was "Replay" and yet again, I was hooked. my first impression though, was, "psh! Please! They aren't better than SuJu!" But then I compared the groups, and I realized that my heart fluttered the same pace each time I saw their gorgeous faces, all of them! (Suju and SHINee combined) At the time, my favorite member was Onew because he just looked so darn cute!! :3 But slowly after time, my favorite member ended up being MinHo, and TaeMin being my second fave. Now, this group was just as good as Super Junior, but I couldn't pick SHINee over SuJu. No way, Jose! I admitted to myself that this group is very talented and handsome, just like SuJu. But this group was different than Super Junior, in a good way. With it only being 5 members, it was easier for me to learn all the members names and roles of the group. I learned that Onew was the leader, even though I thought JongHyun was the leader (what is up with me and guessing the wrong leaders?! 3 times in a row!!) =______="
I learned that all 3 groups are actually close to each other, which was good for me but I didn't know why. As all three of the groups gave their Japanese debut, I was psyched. I began to sing a long to the Japanese versions of Run Devil Run, Genie, Gee, and Bonamana. I just learned the Japanese version for Replay and Hello too :) I added Japanese to my list of languages to self teach, but I knew it wasn't going to be easy! But right before the groups had their Japanese debut, I discovered a sub-unit of Super Junior: Super Junior-M. This sub unit only has 8 members, since Hankyung left :'( and I loved the music I was hearing. I found out about them just in time for their debut of "Perfection" in February. I listened to the song exactly 100 times on the first day it came out. And as of right now, I have listened to it a total of 263 times.^^ I'm a proud Sone, E.L.F., and Shawol :) I hope you enjoyed this long story about how I discovered K-Pop :) and to think, it all started on a makeup tutorial on YouTube! <3 Haha, thanks Bubz!!!
Freshie Style
Ahh, freshman year of high school. Some say they loved it, some say they hated it. Some are scared, some are excited...sometimes a little bit too excited. Wanna know a weird thing? I actually never wanted to go to King. In fact, I hated it. None of my friends were going there and I thought I was going to hate it there. But surprisingly, I love it here! I've met new people that I never thought I would be friends with, and I actually found people that have the same interests as me^^
I thought high school was going to be hard, scary and different. I'm a person who doesn't like change, but I think going to King instead of the schools that I wanted to go to was a good change for me. I'm in Asian Club and on every Thursday I get excited to go up to the study hall room and be with my Asian Club friends. I told some of my classmates that I am teaching myself Korean and that I listen to K-Pop. Some of them thought it was weird that I listened to it, while others thought that it was cool and they told me they listened to it too. I felt...hmm how do I put this? Welcomed, I guess. I didn't have to change myself into being friends with people and they actually don't make fun of me or the music I listen too. It's kinda cool, because I thought I would get made fun of.
Even though it's my freshman year, I can tell that I'm going to love the next four years at King. My GPA is already higher than 3.0 and I must say that I surprised myself O.o But, I can't get mad, right?
Well now I'm off to go pig out on some popcorn and watch 'The Outsiders', one of the greatest movies and books ever^^
